BAGYOU FIBREBUILDING CONNECTIONS Plan Your Connection

Booth power distribution box configuration requirements

A booth power distribution box must be carefully planned for capacity, layout, safety, and compliance, with clear documentation and coordination with the organizer. Key Requirements1. Power Load Calculation Estimate the total wattage of all devices in your booth, including computers, displays, lighting, and chargers.

Always include a safety margin for unexpected devices. For example, laptops typically use around 65 watts, and each device should be allocated at least 5 amps per outlet. Round up your total load to avoid outages and ensure the distribution box can handle the combined wattage of all connected equipment.

2. Electrical Diagram and Layout Create a detailed electrical diagram showing the main distribution point and all device connections. For island or peninsula booths, the distribution point may come from a floor port, column, or ceiling; for inline booths, it usually drops from the rear.

Clearly mark the location of the power box, surrounding clearance, and each socket's intended use (e.g., lighting, demo station, computer). Use top-view and 3D diagrams to indicate exact placements and distances from booth edges. 3.

Compliance and Safety All electrical materials and installations must comply with national standards (e.g., CNS in Taiwan). Unauthorized modifications, cross-booth cabling, or socket sharing are strictly prohibited. Exhibitors are responsible for the safety of connected appliances and any damage caused by overload or improper installation.

Any device exceeding the original capacity must be pre-approved by the organizer. 4. Coordination with Organizers and Contractors Submit your booth electrical layout by the specified deadline to avoid default configurations.

The organizer may provide basic 110V sockets, but additional power requires formal application. Self-built booths must source sockets through their contractors, while organizer-built booths may rent them. Confirm all plans with the venue and follow union or labor guidelines for installation.

5.

Additional Considerations

Include a main circuit breaker (MCCB) for additional power circuits. Plan for continuous 24-hour power only if approved; the organizer is not liable for outages. Avoid overloading circuits; exceeding venue limits may result in disconnection and extra charges.

Keep records of labor, outlet placement, and actual usage for future reference. By following these requirements, exhibitors can ensure safe, reliable, and compliant power distribution within their booth, minimizing the risk of outages, equipment damage, or regulatory violations.
