A three-level distribution box system can be connected, but only in a hierarchical sequence from primary to secondary to tertiary boxes, without bypassing any level.

Hierarchical Connection Principles

In a three-level distribution system, the primary (first-level) distribution box receives power from the main source and distributes it to secondary (second-level) distribution boxes, which in turn supply tertiary (third-level) distribution boxes or switch boxes that directly power electrical equipment. Directly connecting the primary or secondary boxes to equipment without following this hierarchy is prohibited, as it violates the structural and branching principles of the system.

Cable Connections

Primary to Secondary: Cables run from the main distribution box to sub-distribution boxes, ensuring proper insulation and secure connections. Secondary to Tertiary: Tertiary boxes are connected via cables to secondary boxes, allowing flexible distribution to individual devices or smaller circuits. Tertiary to Equipment: The tertiary distribution box directly supplies power to electrical equipment, with residual current devices (RCDs) or leakage protectors installed to ensure safety.

Safety and ProtectionTwo-Level Protection: Both the main and secondary boxes, as well as the tertiary box, should include protective devices such as circuit breakers and leakage protectors to prevent overloads and leakage accidents. Grounding: All metal enclosures of distribution boxes and connected equipment must be reliably grounded to the protective zero line to ensure personnel safety. Distance Guidelines: The main distribution box should be near the power source, secondary boxes near concentrated loads, and tertiary boxes within 3 meters of the equipment they serve.

Operational Considerations

Professional Management: Only qualified electricians should operate and maintain the system, performing regular inspections of wiring, insulation, and protective devices. Cable Selection: Cables must be chosen based on load requirements and environmental conditions, ensuring no damage or aging that could compromise safety. In summary, a three-level distribution box system must be connected sequentially from primary to secondary to tertiary boxes, with proper cabling, protection, and grounding.

Direct bypassing of levels or connecting multiple devices to a single switch is strictly prohibited to maintain safety and system integrity.
