Prices from UK Fireproof Cable Tray Manufacturers

Fireproof cable tray prices in the UK vary widely depending on material, fire rating, and manufacturer, typically requiring direct quotes from suppliers.

Leading UK Manufacturers

Several U

K companies specialize in fireproof or fire-resistant cable trays: Cablofil / Thorne & Derrick UK: Offers fire-resistant cable basket trays for low and high voltage cables, tested to the German DIN 4102-12 standard for 30, 60, and 90 minutes at temperatures up to 1000°C, suitable for construction, power, oil, gas, and rail industries.

CM

W Ltd: Provides perforated trays, ladder trays, and trunking systems with high load capacity and corrosion resistance. Metsec: Precision-engineered light-duty and heavy-duty trays, modular designs, and compliance with international standards. Aitkens Cable Tray Systems: Offers durable cable trays for organized wiring systems, serving industrial and commercial sectors.

Basor Electric: Wire mesh and ladder trays designed for quick assembly and maximum durability. Other notable manufacturers include Channel and Tray, Tamlex, Expert Electrical Ltd, D-Line UK, and Legrand Electric Ltd.

Factors Affecting Price

Material: Steel, stainless steel, or coated metals influence cost; stainless steel and fireproof coatings are more expensive. Fire Rating: Higher fire resistance (e.g., 90 minutes vs 30 minutes) increases price. Tray Type: Ladder trays, perforated trays, and trunking systems have different manufacturing costs.

Size and Load Capacity: Larger trays or those designed for heavy-duty applications cost more. Customization: Color coating, modularity, and bespoke designs can add to the price.

Typical Procurement Approach

Since prices are not standardized, UK suppliers generally provide quotes based on project specifications. For example, Thorne & Derrick UK recommends contacting them directly to obtain fire performance test reports and pricing for Cablofil fireproof trays. Similarly, CEF and other distributors provide pricing upon request depending on tray dimensions and fireproof specifications.

Recommendation

To obtain accurate pricing: Prepare specifications: tray type, material, fire rating, dimensions, and load requirements. Contact multiple suppliers for quotes to compare costs. Consider additional components like fireproof pillows, pads, or cable cleats if required for compliance.

This approach ensures you receive competitive pricing tailored to your project while meeting UK fire safety standards.
