How to wire the plugs when modifying a distribution box

Step Wiring Process

Connect the Main SupplyIdentify the incoming live (phase) and neutral wires from the utility or main feeder. Connect the phase wire to the input terminal of the Main MCB (Double Pole for single-phase systems). Connect the neutral wire to the neutral bus bar in the distribution box.

Install Protective Devices

Bs (Residual Current Circuit Breakers) after the main MCB to protect against leakage currents. Connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB. For output loads, use Single Pole MCBs for individual circuits or Double Pole MCBs for special loads, connecting them to the RCCB output.

Connect Outgoing Circuits

Connect the phase wire from the MCB output to the corresponding load. Connect the neutral wire from the RCCB output to the neutral bus bar. Connect the earth wire from the load to the earth bus bar, which may be linked to an earth pit or the metallic body of the box.

Label and Verify

Clearly mark each wire for its circuit to avoid confusion. Use a multimeter to check for proper voltage, continuity, and absence of short circuits before powering the system.

Avoid overloading circuits; ensure the MCB ratings match the load requirements. Tighten all connections to prevent loose contacts. Ensure all exposed wires are properly insulated to prevent shorts or shocks.
