Steel cable trays in Portugal typically range from €15 to €60 per meter, depending on material, design, and supplier.

Overview of Steel Cable Trays

Steel cable trays are widely used in Portugal for industrial, commercial, and residential electrical installations. They come in various types, including ladder-type, solid-bottom, and wire-mesh trays, and are fabricated from mild steel, galvanized steel, or stainless steel to meet load, corrosion, and fire safety requirements. Mild steel trays are popular for their durability and cost-effectiveness, while galvanized or stainless steel options offer enhanced corrosion resistance for outdoor or harsh environments.

Price Ranges

Mild Steel Cable Trays: Typically €15–€30 per meter, depending on thickness, width, and load capacity. Galvanized Steel Cable Trays: Usually €25–€50 per meter, offering better corrosion protection for outdoor or industrial use. Stainless Steel Cable Trays: Can range from €40–€60 per meter, suitable for highly corrosive environments or specialized applications.

Accessories such as connectors, supports, covers, and joints are sold separately and can add 10–20% to the total cost of a cable tray installation.

Suppliers and Procurement

Several suppliers in Portugal provide steel cable trays, including GroupSumi, Brilltech Engineers, and local manufacturers listed on platforms like Europages. Prices may vary based on order volume, customization, and delivery options. For precise quotations, contacting suppliers directly is recommended, as they can provide tailored pricing based on project specifications.

Market Considerations

The Portuguese cable tray market is influenced by infrastructure modernization, renewable energy projects, and industrial automation, which can affect demand and pricing. Compliance with EU standards (EN 61537) and national building codes ensures safety and performance, which may also impact cost. Bulk orders for large-scale projects often benefit from discounts or negotiated pricing.

In summary, steel cable trays in Portugal are available across a range of prices depending on material, design, and supplier, with mild steel being the most economical and stainless steel the premium option. For accurate pricing, it is advisable to request quotes from multiple suppliers and consider installation accessories and compliance requirements.
